Gender STI Project Hosts Workshop on Co-designing for gender equality at IEEE BHI-BSN 2022

Gender Equality Workshop

The Gender STI project is thrilled to announce its participation on the next edition of IEEE BHI-BSN 2022 Conference to be held from September 27 to 30 in Greece. Gender STI will host the workshop “Co-designing for gender equality: towards gender balance in scientific careers, decision making bodies and R&I content”.

The session chaired by Gender STI partners will feature participants from all over the world who will discuss opportunities in their country or institution and co-design potential solutions that can be implemented to foment gender equality in the future.

The Co-Design workshop will aim to identify key issues in aspects related to gender policies and develop potential solutions through a design thinking process in order to contribute to integrate the gender perspective in Science, Technology and Innovation (STI).

The session will open with Kalliopi Dalakleidi, Postdoctoral Researcher at Department of Food Technology in University of Peloponnese, who will present Greece’s Women in Engineering (WIE) activities. Followed by presentations from different panel members as well as a co-design activity to explore and identify opportunities, ideas, and prototypes of promising ideas to address gender equality.

During the second part of the workshop, attendees will collectively discuss about the different prototype ideas, solutions or recommendations that emerged from the previous part and will try to promote them within IEEE-EMBS BHI and BSN.

Gender STI’s workshop will be held online and on-site on Tuesday, September 27 from 9:00 to 11:00 CEST. All IEEE BHI – BSN participants are warmly invited to join.
