How to Encourage girls to code Through Embroidery Patterns?

The study considered a one-week coding initiative whereby 21 teenage girls participated in two main activities such as, game design and embroidery coding. The results show that the girls’ enthusiasm and interest after participating in such activities successfully raised, proving that the girls obtained a fundamental understanding of programming skills and computational thinking.

From the different approaches, embroidery programming was top-rated as it proved that on the one hand, actual tasks, topics, and problems increased girls motivation and enthusiasm and on the other hand, taking home self-created work can arouse excitement as creative projects provided girls’ interest in computer science.

Other findings of the study include how the different approaches can help to design curriculums or development professional programs as well as proved that activities like game design, embroidery programming, and robotics offer excellent opportunities for girls to get experiences with programming
