The institutionalization of the gender equality approach in Latin American universities: experiences, reflections, and contributions for the future of higher education.

This report points out, how the approach of gender equality institutionalization within university policies and governance structures, as well as the mainstreaming of gender equality into all university practices, are shared objectives still challenging to achieve. However, the reported experiences demonstrate the capacity to develop creative strategies that can be integrated with the change projects demanded by higher education in a socio-economic and cultural environment of great complexity, increasing social and economic inequality, rapid development of digital technologies, among other critical aspects.

It contains articles authored by members of the "Community of Practice on Gender Equality Policies in Latin American Universities and Research Centers," established in 2019 under the ACT on Gender Project, supported by the European Union's Horizon 2020 program and coordinated by the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, led by Jörg Müller and Rachel Palmen.
